Runoff Report 1999..... Other Lakes and Buffers | |
|
|
As for the Shuswap Lake, other smaller lakes included in the watershed were also at a low level when the runoff started. This caused a buffer effect where water was stored everywhere in the watershed. Depending on the size of those lakes it took not much time before equalizing inflow and outflow. The storage relevance for the 1999 runoff was minimal during the first runoff stage. Because I don't have any reliable data about the levels and conditions of those lakes I am not able to evaluate the buffer significance and its effect on the runoff timetable. |
